High school track & field athletes at 2016 NFL Combine

Recently TrackingFootball studied the high school multiple sports background of the 332 college football players invited to the 2016 NFL Combine. Below are some of the findings:

Multiple Sports Overview

• 89% played another sport
• 58% were track and field athletes
• 48% were basketball players
• 11% were baseball players
• 5% were wrestlers

Player Athletic Index Score Review

• Total players with PAI: 181 (55%)
• Average PAI score: 3.5
  • 5.0 = 4%
  • 4.9-4.0 = 13%
  • 3.9-3.0 = 25%
  • 2.9-2.0 = 13%
  • 1.9-1.0 = 1%
  • 0.0-0.9 = 0%
